Your safety and dignity are sacred. These documents explain how your information is handled and your rights as a client.
Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Castle Psychology collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use this app.
Information we may collect includes your name, email address, prayer requests you choose to share, appointment requests, and secure messages you send to the practice.
We use this information to respond to your requests, coordinate care, and provide a peaceful, supportive experience. We do not sell your information.
Security safeguards include access controls and encryption in transit. Only authorized personnel may access client information, and only as needed to provide care or operate the practice.
Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA)
This notice describes how protected health information (PHI) may be used and disclosed in accordance with HIPAA, and explains your rights regarding that information.
Your rights include: the right to request your records, the right to request confidential communications, the right to request restrictions, and the right to be informed of any breach of unsecured PHI.
We may use or disclose PHI for treatment, payment, and health care operations, and as otherwise required or permitted by law. Any other use requires your written authorization, which you may revoke at any time.
Where vendors handle PHI on our behalf, a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is required. This includes telehealth platforms, hosting, and messaging providers that store or transmit PHI.
Telehealth Consent
Telehealth allows you to receive counseling by Zoom or phone. This consent explains the benefits, risks, and limits so you can make an informed choice.
Benefits include convenience, access from a distance, and continuity of care. Risks may include technology interruptions, limits to non-verbal communication, and — in rare cases — a need to redirect to in-person or emergency services.
Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call 988 or 911. Your therapist will discuss a safety plan with you.
By proceeding, you acknowledge that you understand these points and consent to receive care via telehealth when it is appropriate for your needs.
Scope of Practice & Liability Acknowledgment
Castle Psychology's professional responsibility exists only within the counseling relationship — that is, during scheduled, confirmed sessions with your counselor, and in the secure communication channels provided by this practice.
You acknowledge that:
• Counseling is not emergency care. This practice does not provide crisis response, on-call coverage, or monitoring between sessions. If you are in crisis, call 988 or 911.
• Faith-based content in this app — daily Scripture, the prayer wall, Bible reflections and chat, and the Faith Garden — is offered as spiritual encouragement only. It is not therapy, diagnosis, or medical advice, and it does not create a counselor-client relationship.
• You are responsible for your own decisions, actions, and conduct outside of scheduled sessions, including any interpretation or application of content in this app or guidance discussed in counseling. Castle Psychology is not responsible for actions taken outside the professional relationship.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Castle Psychology, its owners, practitioners, and affiliates are not liable for claims arising from events, communications, or conduct occurring outside the scope of the counseling relationship described above.
• This acknowledgment does not waive any right that cannot legally be waived, and nothing in it limits liability for professional negligence to the extent prohibited by law.
By acknowledging this document, you confirm you have read and understood these terms.
Client Consent & Acknowledgment
Counseling at Castle Psychology is a collaborative, faith-centered relationship. You are an active participant, and you may pause or end care at any time.
You acknowledge that this practice integrates Christian faith and Scripture as part of the therapeutic approach. Participation is always voluntary, and your beliefs are respected.
You understand that the first 30-minute consultation is complimentary and intended to help you decide whether this is a good fit. Afterward, pricing is individualized and discussed together, with transparency.
You consent to begin this relationship in good faith, with the shared goal of your healing and growth.
